Tandberg tape drive TS400

Driver provider: Symantec
Driver date: 1/12/2007
Driver version: 5.1
Tanberg
Block Size 64K
Buffer size: 1024K
Buffer count: 10
High water count: 0

Write single block mode: check
Write SCSI pass-through mode: check

Max 220MB/sec is all that get out of the backup

I am not sure if I should be adjusting the Block Size, Buffer size, Buffer count, or the High water count. Can someone please tell me if I should be getting better throughput than 220MB/sec

I would have thought so. Make sure it is terminated properly on the SCSI card and ideally make sure it is connected to a separate SCSI card. Also, update drivers through Backup Exec.

If this doesn't make a difference, check the backup log and try to figure out if it is slow only on a particular point of the backup i.e. Exchange.

I resolved this problem by removing the driver, restarting the server and reinstalling the driver. This fixed the problem
