Restored PST, Outlook says "Online" not "Connected."

We recently restored PST's on the exchange 2003 server.  If I understand correctly Online is connected but not in cached mode, connected is cached mode.  We restored the PST and have verified that cached mode is checked.  Does anyone have any idea what this is happening? We have also recreated the OST.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

first of all connected mean connected to exchange server at that moment, however you are access the OST file with exchange connected, the mail will be downloaded to your OST file.

Work offline means you are not connected to exchange, however if you have cached mode on you will be able to access your Offline mailbox at that moment.

if you want to restore (i guess you mean import it back to your exchange mailbox) pst file, you can do either online or office, however when it is online it will sync with the server instantly. but if you are offine, it will sync with exchange server when it is avaiable which will wait till it is connected.
