I should have mentioned that the software had to be downloaded from http://www.hometheatermaster.com/ upon purchase (I own 3 of them).  Unfortunately, the website now says "hometheatermaster.com expired on 09/07/2010 and is pending renewal or deletion."  None of the links appears to work anymore.

Also, the Universal Remote Control website (http://www.universalremote.com/products/residential/remotes/mx-850) offers only the Owner's Manual & MX Editor Tutorial Video...worthless without the ability to download the MX Editor!

All indications seem to be to go to this page - http://www.universalremote.com/pro/registration.php however that doesn't exist. Have you called Universal Remote Control? Apparently you need to register your product with them before you can download the software.

I found it here:  http://www.prillaman.net/mx700_review.html

Very interesting article that goes with it.  Universal Remote Control Co. has apparently made it nearly impossible for the end-user to get the software in an attempt to put control of distribution in the hands of its professional installers.

That also kinda helps explain the anti-customer stance of the company.  They're impossible to contact as an end-user.

Thanks for the help.
