SMTP server for Windows

I use a php based email marketer, and I would like to use my own VPS server to send out the email via SMTP.

What I would like is a reference to simple software that I could install to manage the outgoing mail sent from the email marketer. Ideally, the software will throttle the outgoing email by ISP (only send a maximum of 500 emails per hour to for example), track deliveries, bounces, etc.

I don't need it to create email campaigns, import databases, etc... just send.

Sendmail would work well for you. The only difficult part would be the throttling, but you can limit the max number of children and the queue runner length to probably get it close to what you want.

That being said, you should probably outsource this one. Sending marketing email is dangerous unless you know exactly what you're doing. Your mail will probably end up getting tagged as spam, rejected and probably get your IP addresses blacklisted.

Thanks jar3817,

I actually know quite a bit about the email marketing business, so I will be setting up my reverse DNS, DKIM, SPF etc to help get me whitelisted. I have been outsourcing to, and most of my email ends up in the spam folders anyway (they are legit, I run them through a spam filter via the email marketer). I will check out Sendmail...thanks!
