inter-tel 5000 voicemail sending email of message

I have an inter-tel 5000 phone system and I am looking to get the voicemail to email me a copy of my messages, I know this can be done and I have configured my smtp server in the DB studio for the phone system.

anyone have any ideas?

Which E-mail server are you using ?

If Exchange then you will need a connector allowing the Phone System to Anonymously Relay to it.

Then all you need to do is create a connector using the Phone's IP as originator and the Exchange se sender. Remember that port 25 must be open ( You can test this by doing a Telnet into the Exchange Server on port 25 ).

The authentication should be Anonymous.

I have the connection on port 25 but I am unsure about how to set the rest of the things you have mentioned up, would that be set up on the exchange server?

i have now got it working and i have not had to update the exchange server configuration.  thanks for all of your help MCP_jon
