I did have a regular ms word format but now there is a symbol like a backwards P. It is 2 verticle lines with a solid dot at the top left side of the 2 verticle lines. I do not know what you call the symbol, but how do I get rid of it??

thanks, pupuli

Sounds like you have formatting turned on. You can hide/show formatting. Look at the following article: http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/word-help/show-or-hide-formatting-marks-HA010102250.aspx

I found it before your comment but will credit you, the web had a real easy solution. Bring up my ms word page look at the top tool bar and click the paragraph symbol and bam it's gone.
thanks pupuli
