MS Office 2010: Opening Document In MOSS 2007 Hangs IE for 20 or so seconds
Hi Guys,
Bit of a tricky one this. Basically we have a MOSS 2007 server and an XP client running IE6 and MS Office 2010. When we browse to a standard document store and try to open a document it works the first time immediatly. We then close the document and then open the same document again and IE hangs for 20 seconds and then calls the document.
I initially thought this was an IE problem but an IE6/Office 2003/2007 combination works which makes me think it is Office 2010 causing the issue.
I have tried different browsers just to be sure and also turned off all plugins just in case but to no avail.
I ran wireshark on the machine to see if it was there was any network delays and it appears that during these 20 seconds no traffic is sent across the network, after the 20 or so seconds traffic is sent and it opens in a couple of seconds.
Anyone else ever come across this as it has me stumped?
Cheers,
- Jamie

Hi there,
Thanks for taking the time to reply however we do not have an IPS which would sit in line and do this :( will however take another look at the anti virus/malware settings and see if anything there could be amiss.
