PDFs are blurry and distorted

Customer has a pdf, which looks great and no issues with text, when he goes to print as PDF using the PDF printer, he will save it (say for instance) to his desktop, he views the PDF that he saved for printing everything is distorted and text is all blurried. Almost as if it were wet ink that got smeared everywhere.  I cannot find any documentation on how to resolve this problem. Please help!

Hi

Is he using Print to PDF in order to save the PDF? Why not simply save it using File> Save as?

It is likely that he has Adobe PDF Settings specified in his Adobe Printer. open the Printer Control panel and right click Adobe PDF printer. Select printing preferences and check the the PDF settings are NOT set to 'Smallest file size' but to 'Standard'. Try 'Highest Quality' as well to check for effect.

If the setting is set to 'Standard' open Distiller and check the settings. Go to Start> Programmes> Adobe Distiller x.0. When Open go to Settings > Settings > Edit PDF Settings. On the left panel select 'Images' and check that the down-sampling options are not set too low (min 150=default for Standard).

If that does not help, let us know and we may need more info on what setup he has and what sw he uses to view/print/create PDFs...

Yes, I'm not sure why he's doing that either, lol. :)  I have to leave for the day but I will pass this to him, he's a remote user.  I'll let you know, hopefully tomorrow!
Thank you!!!
Ok here's what my customer said:

PDF settings were already set to Standard.  For whatever reason he didn't say anything about trying it on Highest Quality and I'm having him do that now.

Image settings were set correctly and even sent me a screenshot of the settings if you need that.

Anything else?
Try highest settings first to see if this makes a difference. Then post a screenshot of the blurry appearance. Ideally we could use a post of the PDF so we can see if this is blurry here as well...
