The administrator account is created and disabled by default for security purposes, and just in case the administrator account you created gets damaged or locked out.<br />

You have to just reset the password by going into active directory users and computers &gt;built in&gt; etc. It isn't available from sbs console.<br />

Thanks tharstern. &nbsp;Can you give me a little more detail as to where to locate the admin password reset. &nbsp;I can't find it under the active directory. &nbsp;I'm not a formally trained IT guy so my KB is limited. &nbsp;Thanks. &nbsp;

To unlock the account, you go to the properties of the user and select the 'account' tab.<br />

You will need to scroll down within the account options and untick 'account disabled'<br />

We recently installed sbs 2008. &nbsp;During installation it asks for an administrator name and password during setup so my name and password were entered. &nbsp;I see that there is an administrator user that is different from my name as administrator. &nbsp;I've always seen just straight administrator as a user account but how do I find out or reset the admin password??? &nbsp;It was never entered by me during setup but was abvoiusly generated as an account. &nbsp;Thanks
