Curvy corners error in IE8
Hi, on a site I'm creating, which can be found at www dot code diva sites dot com slash sonora,
I'm getting this error in IE8: No object with ID #gallery exists yet.
Call curvyCorners(settings, obj) when is created.
On curvycorners support, they say:
There are two ways to avoid this notification. One is to use class
names, rather than IDs, to identify objects that may or may not be
present on a page. The other is to suppress the notification by using
curvyCornersVerbose, as detailed in the documentation.
That's over my head, can anyone help? Thanks!!

Make sure you place the javascript behind the html code which has ID #gallery OR wait with calling the function until the page had loaded. This should fix your problem (assuming you have an object with ID #gallery on your page.
ASKER
Hi- I'm not sure what you mean by "behind". :) Can you give me an example? Thanks.
I meant 'after'.
e.g.
<div id="Gallery"></div>
<script>blabla</script>
So the gallery div is loaded before the actual script that is searching for the div.
e.g.
<div id="Gallery"></div>
<script>blabla</script>

ASKER
Hmm. The script is in the head.
<head><script type="text/javascript" src="curvycorners.src.js"> </script>
</head>
<head><script type="text/javascript" src="curvycorners.src.js">
</head>
That would not be a problem as long as the function that is being called is after the gallery div OR at body onload.
ASKER
So in the attached code, I would need to have:
<a href="javascript:slideShow .nav(-1)" class="imgnav " id="previmg"></a>
<a href="javascript:slideShow .nav(1)" class="imgnav " id="nextimg"></a>
Before the div ID gallery?
<a href="javascript:slideShow

No that would be fine as you can only click when the page had loaded.
There is a line where you are initializing the script. e.g. Call curvyCorners(settings, obj). That line should be after the gallery div.

Sorry, I'm having trouble finding it, I'm going to post the code for the whole page. I wonder if it is being confused by other javascript on the page?

/*
Version 2.x now autoMagically applies borders via CSS rules.
Safari, Chrome and Mozilla support rounded borders via
-webkit-border-radius, -moz-border-radius
We let these browsers render their borders natively.
Firefox for Windows renders non-antialiased
borders so they look a bit ugly. Google's Chrome will render its "ugly"
borders as well. So if we let FireFox, Safari, and Chrome render their
borders natively, then we only have to support IE and Opera
for rounded borders. Fortunately IE reads CSS properties
that it doesn't understand (Opera, Firefox and Safari discard them);
so for IE and Opera we find and apply -webkit-border-radius and friends.
So to make curvycorners work with any major browser simply add the following
CSS declarations and it should be good to go...
.round {
-webkit-border-radius: 3ex;
-moz-border-radius: 3ex;
}
NB at present you must (for Opera's sake) include these styles in
the page itself.

I just reported this as a bug.
Their support team in an earlier support case said:
There are two ways to avoid this notification. One is to use class names, rather than IDs, to identify objects that may or may not be present on a page. The other is to suppress the notification by using
curvyCornersVerbose, as detailed in the documentation.
Any thoughts on that?
