I recently replaced MS Outlook 2007 with Outlook 2010.  After the installation of 2010, I ran it and When I tried to open the .pst file which created by MS outlook 2007, it asked me for password.  I do not know what password that this one requires?  I entered the mail passwd, but it kept saying wrong password.  Any idea or suggestion?  Many thanks.

It sounds like a password was set on the PST previously, but that the password was saved in Outlook 2007 so you were not prompted for it every time you open it. Now that you have upgraded to 2010, the PST password has been lost.

I believe there are issues with providing direct links to password recovery utilities, suffice to say that I have found some useful utilities on nirsoft.net in the past! ;-)

Once you have gotten past this, if you want, you can turn off the password by right clicking on the PST in Outlook 2010, clicking on Data file properties, Advanced, Change Password, inputting the old password as the correct password, and leaving the new password fields blank..

Hopefully this helps
