Need a simple WF demo that shows database access

I am trying to convince our tech lead that WF is the best way to embed the workflow that we currently see as flowcharted logic.  He needs to see some database interaction before he's convinced.

Does anyone have any WF demo they can show me which changes its behavior as the results are persisted to a database?

Thanks,

The official source of samples of WF4 is: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=35ec8682-d5fd-4bc3-a51a-d8ad115a8792&displaylang=en
There you can find some examples of standard persistence and custom persistence, but you have to read some theory first, to get to know the required schema to be implemented in your existing database.
