When you convert a physical Windows Server 2003 machine, to reach 95% an error of reconfiguration failed. We tried to stop SQL services, but the problem persists. When you install VMware Converter on the physical machine, to reach 98% showing a failed reconfigurción error.
We tried to format the disk arrays, with 8MB and the same problem happens.
Anyone have an idea how to fix?
Sorry for my English.
Thanks everyone!

Hi

For database P2V better to do a cold migration and you need to do several task in the pre P2V, also post tasks after the P2V

Check this how to P2V

I was able to virtualize the C\: drive operating system, but it is impossible to virtualize the data in the drive E:\. On the drive e: contains the SQL databases. Is there a problem to virtualize SQL databases with vmware?

Hi

To P2V databases you need to stop the services. And be careful with the data if you are migrating with a hot migration.

Did you try a cold migration? For databases the best is a cold migration.

The tests I have done both hot and cold, and the results were the same. Failed at 95%.
Migraré data and database E: \ by hand. There should be no problem.
Thank you very much for your time.
