Hello,

I have been trying to convert the following 2D image into a 3D one. I want to ultimately animate it, which I am fine with.

I have tried various packages such as Blender 3D, Xara Xtreme and Adobe Illustrator, but whenever i import the logo it either add a white background around the diamond shape or I get an error about my graphics card.

I want to add a slight depth to the image, making it like a plaque or a photo canvas.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Xara Xtreme has an "Extrusion Tool" which you can use to give a basic 3D appearance.  It works best with vector images though, so I redrew your bitmap in Xtreme and applied an extrustion.  I've attached a PNG example, and the original XAR file so that you can take it apart and play with the Extrusion tool to get a feel for it.

(I've renamed the IT.xar file as IT.txt so that I could attach it here: you should rename it back to IT.xar to open it in Xara Xtreme on your PC)

There's no need for any fancy graphics card to use Xara Xtreme.

Hi Redlondon,

I did try using xara, but i think the problem i was having is that i was trying to add the extrusion on an existing jpeg or png file.

I shall get one drawn up in xara and go from there

Thanks a lot, great help.
