where is the serial number on this laptop Dell Vostro 1400

I see many numbers but I can't find out which number is the serial number.

Dell has a 7 digits servicetag number.
Normaly is is placed as a sticker at the bottem of your laptop...
If you cann't find the stcker...You can check the Bios with normaly also tell you what the servicetag is...

Try the sticker underneath laptop, if not there see bios.

I see 7 digits.  I'm guessing the service tag number is the same as the serial number?

The service tag is a unique number.
So you can say that the servicetag is the serial number for a dell computer.
