Default Global Address List not getting updated.

Just finished migrating to Exchange 2010. Noticed that when we add new mail enabled contacts, they are not showing up in the Global Address List for our Outlook users. They can choose the contacts address list and the entry is there but not in the Global Address List.
I have ran the cmdlet to update the Default Global Address List but that did not help.

Any ideas?

verify by using owa
outlook may be running in cached mode which updates nightly

run
get-offlineaddressbook | update-offlineaddressbook

then in outlook download the offline address book

Can you see the address through OWA? If so you need to rebuild the GAL. run a GAL update
