Hello,

I am having some trouble cleaning up a WSUS 3.0 server. I have downloaded the server diagnostic utility from the Microsoft site and extracted the content to the Tool folder under Program files\Update Services.

When i run the tool with the /Tool:purgeunneedefiles command it crashes cmd straght away with the bellow error:

Unhandled Exception: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or ass
embly 'Microsoft.UpdateServices.Common, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, Public
KeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find th
e file specified.
File name: 'Microsoft.UpdateServices.Common, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, P
ublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35'
   at Microsoft.SoftwareDistribution.Tools.SusServerTool.Main(String[] args)

WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF.
To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLM\Software\M
icrosoft\Fusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1.
Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure lo
gging.
To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fus
ion!EnableLog].

Any advice would be much appreciated, if you need any more information please ask.

Thanks
Mark

Are you running the tool on a 64 bit system?

Thanks, in response to the comment above, yes it is 64 bit, but in version 3 the clean-up command has been removed from the utility app that is pre-installed anyway. The codeplex app works perfectly.
