citrix desktop icons no longer working

We present a desktop icon for all of our Citrix users fro them to access their Citrix desktop. For some reason all of the those desktops were not longer functional, throwing the following error when users attempted to access Citrix:

"requested resource has been removed from the server".

We have presented a new icon which is fine, but I would like to understand why this would happen.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.
