red x When replying to email on Blackberry

I have a user that has been having difficulties replying to email from certain individuals and another user that has one client he cant send an email to at all whether it is a new email or a reply to an email on their company blackberrys.  But sending from outlook is not an issue.  Once they have sent the email from there blackberry using their company email account they get the email returned with a red x beside it.

The message status in the bounced back email says: Unlisted message error.

Can they send any messages at all? It could be that they're on a personal blackberry plan and not an enterprise blackberry plan. The former doesn't support BES, the latter does.

Another possibility is that the unit just needs to have the battery pulled and reinserted. Its disturbing how many BB problems that solves.

they can send messages just having issues sending to certain ones from the Blackberry.

I have tried pulling the battery out and putting it back in and didnt have any luck.  These are company blackberrys that are on the BES.

Yes it is alarming how many problems are fixed by a simple battery pull.

You can try resending service books.

If that doesn't work, I'd say wipe and reactivate.

what do you mean by resending service books?

In BES, there's an option in the users' settings to "Resend Service Books". The location is different of course in BES 4 and BES 5, but it's in the users section.

This basically tells the Blackberry about all of the services it has enabled, how to send and receive email, PIN messages, route to the internet, etc.

wow this ended up being an issue on the BES server.  Just required a reboot of the server to fix it up.
