My small business presently uses Network Solutions both as a domain registrar and for web hosting. I have long been displeased with the reliability of their POP3 email service and the quality and response time of their technical support. They tend to ask irrelevant questions and promise a 24-48 hour turn-around to fix a problem. They promise to call me or email me about the resolution, but never do.

In the past we used Yahoo Web Hosting and had similar experience there.

Availability and reliability are really important to us. We require high-quality and responsive telephone technical support with prompt turn-around (e.g. 1 - 2 hour turn-around to fix a problem).

I am looking for your recommendation of alternative service providers. Please include why you are making the recommendation - their strengths and weaknesses.

Some background about our present service confguration:

A basic UNIX shared web hosting package, no e-commerce at this time, presently an HTML website but moving to a Joomla! CMS-based design, will be including a blog and some audio/video content as part of the site. Hosting package includes POP3 business email which we access both through Microsoft Outlook and the provider's web interface.

If you need more information, please ask.

Thanks in advance for your thoughtful suggestions!
