Have downloaded updates 8.1 - 8.1.5 and have also followed instructions re adobepdf.dll but still no luck in getting the printer to work.

Is this 64 bit windows?

Installing Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional on Windows 7 - The file 'AdobePDF.dll' on WIndows Vista CD-ROM is needed - I have followed the instructions given to this question
Also, is this a problem with ANY printing or a Creative Suite Issue? The ADOBE PDF printer isn't supported on a 64 bit system. If that is your system, a workaround is necessary. Please advise us.
Get this update from:

After downloading the update, go into the the PDF printer properties> "advanced" and click "print directly to printer".
Good Luck!

this is a problem only with Acrobat 8 printing. The Acrobat 8 converter belongs to my CS3 Web Premium software.

thanks, griff4345. I have taken both steps you recommended but the converter window opens and then says 'not responding.' I have the same software installed on my Vista laptop and it works perfectly.
My next profound response: Hmmmmmmmmmmm........
So..... let me be clear..... if you open or create a PDF in your LEGAL version of Acrobat 8, which has been updated, etc. you cannot print it to your printer. Is that correct? And is that the limit of the issue? I understand the "adobePDF.dll" issue. What printer are you printing to? Is it a physical printer, to file or both?
ASKER
I cannot CREATE a PDF in my legal version of Acrobat 8. I am not trying to print a physical copy. I have been trying to use the Adobe PDF Converter (Printer).
Have you also tried the renaming of the 64.dll by dropping the "64"? Some people seem to have had success with this.
Otherwise, I'm stumped! It seems that Adobe has no definitive solution for this but to upgrade to the latest version for 64 bit....... but that should probably be 10.
If you download the very latest READER, do you still have the same issue?
