NIS user and AIX 6.1
Hi,
I have a strange problem with NIS user and AIX 6.1
The user name is 9 characters long - alexandra and I can't telnet or ssh with it directly to any AIX 6.1 machine, only as root and then su - alexandra.
But even this way, I get this error:
3004-614 Unable to change directory to "".
You are in "/home/guest" instead.
But I have no problem to run cd ~alexandra (it’s mounted via NFS)
When i try to ssh to one of the AIX 6.1 machines as alexandra, I get "access denied" even though ssh is open to all NIS users and any other NIS user can SSH without any problem.
When I try to telnet to one of the AIX 6.1 machines as alexandra, I get “3004-300 You entered an invalid login name or password.”
And finally, when I try to “su – Alexandra” from other NIS user, (not as root) I get:
You entered an invalid login name or password.
Cannot su to "tore".
This problem is only with AIX 6.1, I also have AIX 5.2 & 5.3 and I don't have any problems like that with them!
Thanks,
Tal
