I am planning a home network and I need to create 2 distinct networks, but I am trying to avoid getting a second internet line. I am assuming I can just assign 2 seperate subnets for each of my networks, and then put then into a common switch, which connects to the single router... but for some reason doing that makes me think someone savy enough could figure out how to hop networks.

What is the standard for doing this procedure, or is there one at all?
