Citrix AMC user does not have permissions to edit site configuration stored on the specified server
Hi All.
citrix PS 4.5
We have a citrix farm & have had no problems untill recently. I am a full domain administrator and i have full user administration/configurati on rights in the license management console
Suddenly when i RDP to the server and lauch the access management console the discovery process which is set to discover 4 citrix servers fails with "user does not have permissions to edit site configuration stored on the specified server" . AND errors occurres when using server1 int he discovery process
this occurs on all 4 servers that i login too.
the license manager is installed on server 1 , the other 3 are application servers.
IF i restart server 1 i then rdp back in this appears to resolve the issue & i have full rights within the AMC and everything discovers as it should.
It appear to occurr most frequently after ive done allot of admin work on the server IE publishing applications or changing permissions. After a period i end up with the same error as above, a reboot is needed again!
any ideas as rebooting all this time is not ideal as users lose connectivity.
thanks

Is your account added to the citrix administrators? Or are the citrix adminstrators something like domain admins. In the AMC - when you can get there - I normally add my specific user account as full control and sometimes local administrators as full control. Are you also locked out of the license console? Or there are no issues with the license console?

Hi, i had a look a basraj commemts, I will try this however when the license server1 is rebooted everythign is fiine. the issue appears afterwards only once ive succesfully appied sdveral changes then suddenly he servers are undiscoverable with the message stated in the original question
Re:trayBcool ; yes my account and others who are full domain admins are added to the license manager, ive also added a local admin account with full config rights but this too fails when this prob arises.
BUT Interstingly yes i have been locked out of the license management console, it just repeatdly prompts for the username/password. this works OK after a reboot
Im thinking this is a license console issue. ive re-installed the license console but still have the problem . reboot appears the only way fwd .
any ideas here?

So its just the license console you are getting locked out of. Open this file in notepad
Program Files\Citrix\\Licensing\to mcat-users .xml
Copy the <section for a user account> near the bottom, a complete line for current user and then add a new you can add new users.
But, my original suggestion has nothing to do with the server or license console. In the citrix managment console(s) Add you individual accounts there rather than by group.
