I've put the latest ubuntu netbook edition (10.10) on an old Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600.  THe display settings only allow a maximum of 800x600 but I know it will do 1024x768.

Windows 2000 reports its a Trident Microsystems Cyberblade/XP Graphics chip and I can get ubuntu to report the same in a terminal (cant remember the commend to do it!).

However, the Display settinsg app keeps saying unknown monitor.

I have googled and found some command lines that are supposed to fix it and they dont work.  sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg doesnt do anything

I'd reallyh appreciate some help in getting this done as these laptops are for a Charity.
