How to add a program to start automatically on boot up?
How do I add a program to start up when it is done booting up?
Thanks, Pat

I'd say the easiest way is to drag and drop a shortcut to the application you want to start into the Autostart-folder in your start menu.

I don't see an autostart-folder on my start menu. In older versions of windows it was very easy to see the start menu in windows explorer.
Is there a way to make it show on windows explorer? If not I will try John's option.
Thanks, Pat

That's odd. I'm not using a english version of Windows 7 but it should be under "All programs" or whatever it might be labeled with. Otherwise, just try and create it. If I open my start menu, click "All programs"/"All applications" (or something like that), I have a Autostart-folder.
Drag it to Startup Folder in windows Programs.
anything dragged to this folder will run automatically everytime your windows boots.
IT should be in Start > ALL Programs > Startup
Oh, perhaps Startup is the name of the folder then. I'm on a swedish Windows 7 and there it's called Autostart.

Seems to be working. Thanks, Pat

It seems to start it up in that it is on the tasks running but doesn't act right until I start it again. Maybe it is because when it starts up I need to click the OK button before it is really running.
Normally if I bring it up manually then click OK it hides the window but will perform its function, which is to expand keywords it has in its dictionary.
When I start it up the way you suggested it does not respond to commands like F10 to bring up the window.
Any toughts?
