Hello,

I am planing to move the location of my Exchange storage groups to another partition. Right now they are all located on the D:\ drive.

I've set another RAID-5 partition on the F:\ drive and what I was planing to do was the following:

1- Dismount all my storage groups
2- Copy all the storage group to the new F:\ partition
2a- Make sure the permissions is the same on both partitions
3- Rename the drive letter of the D:\ partition to G:\ and F:\ to D:\
4- Mount the storage groups back

Would that work?

I am aware of this procedure: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/821915

I'm just wondering if that would work.  Also, at the moment my log files are on the same partition then the database file. I know it is not recommended to have both the log file and database on the same partition. I will probably also move the log file to another partition, is there a problem if I move the log files on the system partition(different disk)?

Thank you,
