I have a main form and sub form and I need to validate the data in the sub form when moving to another record in the subform or leaving the sub form if the user is done.  Microsoft documentation clearly says that the order of events for a new record in a sub form fires the events in the following order - Current (form)  Enter (control)  GotFocus (control)  BeforeInsert (form)  AfterInsert (form).  I want to use the before insert since it has a cancel option.  All works as advertised except the before insert event never fires.  I tried the before update event but it fires too often – before there is any data to validate.
The sub form is set to show continuous forms.
Any ideas?
