Mount external Harddrive to multiple folders

Hello Experts

I have a server running (Ubuntu Maverick Server on PowerPC) and would like to extend its storage capacity. I therefore bought an external harddrive. Now I would like to mount this harddrive in a way that several folders get a bigger capacity (i.e. webroot, ftp, samba folders) - but to be honest I don't have a clue on how to achieve this.

I do know how to mount a device to a certain point - but what I would like to achioeve is that multiple folders get more capacity. I'm sure this is possible as I have done it using the guided installer (when you fresh install a system) on an other machine. There I could just choose Linux to use the ext. HD as it would be part of the internal...

Any help very much appreciated.
