Your best solution is to create custom webparts and then add custom drop down menus to the items. If you are okay to that I can send you couple of links to get started.

Hi 66866,

I have created custom webpart programmatically and deployed as sandboxed solution.I got an error since sandboxed solutions have some limitations and SPGridview class is not available. Please see the below links.

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.sharepoint.webcontrols.spgridview.aspx
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee721992.aspx#BKMK_srcSandboxedSolutionLBOptions

So,I deployed as Farm solution on my local machine. It's working fine but the Manager doesn't want to deploy as Farm solution since they do not want to reset the iis.
Can you please let me know if there is a way to resolve this issue through Sandbox?

Thank you.
