Exchange 2007 to 2010 Migration Fail
Hi All,
we have a major issue in that we moved some mailboxes to our new exchange 2010 server to find out that those mailboxes no longer receive mail (2007 box is still in play and receiving the mail) so as this was happening we decided to move the mailboxes back to 2007 and then fix exchange 2010 with a test mailbox so that we know its working correctly.
The issue is this, exchange 2007 throws up an error when we try to move the mailbox back onto it:
Move-Mailbox : Error was found for Steven Marks (s.marks@ourdomain.com) because: E
rror occurred in the step: Opening source mailbox. Failed to open mailbox with
error: An unknown error has occurred., error code: -1056749262

Hi There,
we have already moved the mailboxes to the exchange 2010 server but that server isnt allowing our mailboxes to receive any emails so we wish to move them back to 2007.
2007 doesn't have the initiate the move button, if i do it via powershell then i get the error posted above.

I have tried on the 2007 box to move the mailbox, i have run the following command on the exchange 2010 box since my last post though:
New-MoveRequest -Identity "s.marks@galtec.com" -TargetDatabase gts -WhatIf
I have just removed the -WhatIf and it seems to be moving the mailbox!!!
what a pain all the articles we found asked us to do it on the 2007 box!

for the mail traffic make sure that Exhcange has firewall turned off and that you can telnet from 2007 to 2010 on port 25
