Newly installed SBS 2008 Server.

Intel S3420GPLC Motherboard - 16GB RAM - 4X 300GB Velociraptor (1 Boot - 3 Raid5 in Windows Disk manager).

Straight SBS setup - all Microsoft updates installed, latest Intel drivers installed for chipset, lan, SATA controller(s).

Drives set up as Sata0 - boot / Sata1/2/3 RAID5 Striped/Parity set from Windows Disk Management Console.

Error Logs clean.

Drive access across the LAN or locally is SLOWER than the 3 year old SBS2003 server we replaced.  Copy from Raid to boot drive starts out at about 165MB/sec and rapidly falls to 20MB/sec (takes 50 minutes to copy a 32GB folder from drive to drive).

These drives should be lightning fast in this configuration.

The client is disappointed - I'm getting incredibly frustrated...
