Text Message Synchronization between Exchange and HTC HD2
I have an Exchange Server 2010 SP1 with Outlook 2007 client and an HTC HD2 phone running Windows Mobile 6.5. With this combination, I am supposed to be able to synchronize SMS text messages between my Outlook Inbox (or Text Messages folder) and the phone's SMS application.
The Exchange/Outlook end is all set up but the difficulty comes at the phone. The instructions say: "To enable text message synchronization on a Windows Mobile 6.1 phone or a later version that's synchronized with a Microsoft Exchange account, use the following steps.
1.On the mobile phone, select the Text Message application.
2.To display the configuration page, select Menu > Tools > Manage SMS Sync.
3.On the Manage SMS Sync options page, turn on SMS Sync by selecting either Inbox or Text Message. These are the two folders that can hold your text messages.
4.To complete the setup, select OK."
However, the HD2's Text Message application is HTC's own version and there is no such option as Menu > Tools > Manage SMS Sync. There is Menu > Settings > Options which opens a page of options but none of them are relevant to the SMS Sync.
Does anyone know where I can set this? Is there a way to get at the native (non HTC) SMS application?
Thanks

Many thanks for this pointer. What a kludge! However, I tried it and, although I still don't get the options promised, SMS text messages ARE now being synchronized properly
