Outlook Web Access Search Missing some emails

Having an issue with the search features within Outlook web, Ive verified the search feature and the indexer are both running, also there is a large active catalog in the proper folder.
When a user does a search for say all emails from email address "John Smith", they will get some emails appearing but not all emails that are from that address.
I've done a little messing about and reviewed the MS KB945077 :
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/945077

When I run the command:

test-exchangesearch robert|fl
ResultFound : True
SearchTime : 10

or:

test-exchangesearch Lewis|fl
ResultFound : True
SearchTime : 4

So I think that means the search functionality is operating properly.

I'm not seeing any errors in the event log related to searching, it just seems like it's not returning all the answers for parameters entered.

Windows 2003 server
Exchange 2007

Any thoughts on how I might be able to narrow down this specific issue?

Thanks Post

How many matches are you receiving and how many are you expecting.  With Exchange 2007 the search results are limited to the first 100 matches found.

Ccisat1rbm,

In a test i just did live I could see about 50 emails from a specific sender, when i did a search for all emails from sender there was 19 displayed with a smattering of dates, a couple were months old a large batch in the middle were visable but only 1 of 6 delivered in the last month were showing up.
DeadNight that indexing is in reference to internal indexing systems in the Vista/Windows 7 system using outlook 2007 full client.
This error is specific to OWA in Exchange 2007, the outlook local clients are indexed properly and searching fine.

Thank you for the response however :)

No worries!
Something that.. complicated would have to wait till after working hours so as to not adversely affect user performance/experience.  I have done that process in the past (a few months back) when the search system stopped functioning completely and it did resolve the problem.  I was hoping in the case where it was still functioning but not retrieving all information a full reboot of the catalog wasn't going to be required.
