Hi I would like to know how to replace files in a remote serverver using curl

Right now im using this function to upload file to my remote server using curl
$ftpurl = "ftp://".$ftpuser.":".$ftppass."@".$ftppath;
 $fp = fopen($galeria, 'r');
 $ch = curl_init();
 curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $ftpurl.$galeria);
 curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_UPLOAD, 1);
 curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_INFILE, $fp);
 curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_INFILESIZE, filesize($galeria));
 $error = curl_errno($ch);
 curl_close ($ch);
 if ($error == 0)
 { $bandera = true;  }
 { $bandera = false; }

That works when the file that Im try to upload doesnt exist on the remote server

How can I use that code to upload files no matter what that file exists on the remote server
