I have a problem with the Intel ICH9R onboard RAID controller on my ASUS P5E WS Pro motherboard. I bought me two SSDs OCZ Vertex 2. If I set the RAID controller to IDE or AHCI both drives are being detected and can be used. But I would like to put those into a RAID0.
As soon I set the controller to RAID 0 then the disks are not being detected anymore.

I did some research on this and it looks like that the firmware of the ICH9R is to low ... it is at This firmware is supposed to be upgraded with the BIOS. So I upgraded to the latest BIOS 1203 but it does not contain a firmware upgrade of the RAID controller.

My question now is: Is there a way to upgrade it manually or is the issue related to something completly diffrent. - I know sorry that are two questions.

Any help is being appriciated.
Thank you
