My SonicWall Global VPN client conencts and obtains an IP address, however, every 60 seconds or so it disconnects and re-obtains an IP address again.

The WAN GroupPN settings are as follows:

Authentication Method: IKE using Preshared Secret
Shared Secret: *****
IKE (Phase 1) Proposal: Group 1, 3DES, SHA1, 28800
Ipsec (Phase 2) Proposal: ESP, 3DES, SHA1, Enable Perfect Secrecy not checked, Life Time 28800
Enable Windows Networking (NetBIOS) Broadcast checked
Enabled Multicast not checked
HTTP and HTTP not checked
Require Authentication of VPN Clients via XAUTH ticked
Cache XAUTH: single Session
Virtual adaptor settingS: DHCP Lease
Allow Connections to: split tunnels
(other options on "client" tab not selected)

On the advanced tab I have:

Enable IKE Dead Peer Detection - checked
Dead Peer Detection Interval (seconds) - 60
Failure Trigger Level (missed heartbeats) - 3
Enable Dead Peer Detection for Idle VPN sessions - not checked
Dead Peer Detection Interval for Idle VPN sessions (seconds) - 600
Enable Fragmented Packet Handling - Checked
Ignore DF (Don't Fragment) Bit - Checked
Enable NAT Traversal - Checked
Clean up Active tunnels when Peer Gateway DNS name resolves to a different IP Address - Checked
Preserve IKE Port for Pass Through Connections - checked
Enable OCSP Checking - not checked
Send VPN Tunnel Traps only when tunnel status changes - not checked
Send IKEv2 Cookie Notify - not checked

On the DHCP over VPN I have (central gateway):

Send DHCP requests to the server addresses listed below
(IP address of our SBS/DNS/DHCP server listed)
Relay IP Address (optional):

Some notes:

# Doing ping -t does not keep connection alive
# Ping the SBS server does not drop any packets
# Have tried setting "netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=enabled"
# Firewall is a PRO 1260 Enhanced (
# Global VPN client is

In the Global VPN log file we have:

2010/10/02 01:03:34:540      Error            <local host>      Failed to send an outgoing ISAKMP packet. A socket operation was attempted to an unreachable host..

NB I can see it connecting successfully, but it just seems to keep dropping it.
