I am creating a page that I want to cater specifically to an iPhone, iPad, or other mobile device. It will present a video player, hopefully lauch the video, and when stopped, will allow the user to watch again, or phone me, or email me, or go to my web site. Finally I'm interested in the best trade off between quality and speed. I'm fine if the user has to wait a little bit, but it can't be too long. The video has to be rendered in as high a quality as possible without losing the viewer when waiting for down load.
What code do I need on the page for it to size appropriately for the calling mobile device?
What do I need to watch out for?
It is worth trying to get the video to launch as soon as the page loads?
What considerations do I need to take into account when figuring my tans coding settings?
What are average download speeds for these devices? I'm guessing I have about 10 seconds.
This video player is going to have to be html5 based. Any recommendations of a specific player for this use?
Thank you so much!
