Which thin client for vmware view ?
I plan to use for the company I work for thin clients with VMware View latest version.
Should I make the purchase of about 20 thin clients. I saw that there are different brands and models.
I do not know anyone. I found these brands:
IGEL
VXL
Wyse
I have some questions:
A) Can anyone tell me what is the best brand as value for money?
B) They told me not to use the Thin Client with Windows CE because it is slow and old, but only those with Windows XP Embedded or Linux. Is it true that statement? What do you think?
Thanks

Yes I tried to contact IGEL a couple of times for some pre-sales technical advice but didn't have much luck. The wyse clients have a good reputation and actually have some features that integrate with vmware view. I don't know if you are familiar with citrix hdx (its basically local redirection of multimedia video flash etc) so that video and flash runs as it would in a standard web browser.
Wyse have brought a similar thing out for Vmware view (multimedia accelerator) there are some video demos on youtube but it is licensed seperately from the client and this put me off. Well i couldn't be bothered asking my bosses for more licencing money. If cost isn't an issue then wyse may actually be the best option.
I am always forced to get best value for most things.

HP has got a product range specifically for thin clients.

In my opinion, since you have already chosen VMware View as the backend for the VDI, choosing the thin client that supports VMware View well from the front end would be a viable option.
How much are you willing to shell out for these smart boxes ?

Panologic makes a cool zero-client product that is small and fairly feature-rich. It also integrates with View:
