i trief that friday and it seemed as if the fields still had the old conection. FYI, I am updating to ssas 2008
Ok I went into the connections and added the connection to the upgraded cube but when I click in a cell that is pulling data from the cube it is still trying to access the old cube. I built a new sql 2008 server and am trying to get the SSAS upgraded as well. I have it loaded in 2008 but I cannot update this excel spreadsheet to point at this new cube. Please help
hi johnnyaction:

check the connections in your spreadsheet, you might need to remove the older ones and then recreate the connection just like carsRST: mentioned

I did that. Is there a way to automatically update all the fields to point to the new connection? It looks as if the new connection is created but nothing is pointed to it. I am just getting errors in the cells now?
You may have an issue with your cube.  See if you can browse it from BIDS.

I am able to open it in BIDS with no problem.
Best I can tell you is to just stop and restart the service.  Clear any connections and try again.
thanks
