Fixed point arithmetic on an iPhone, is it worth it?

I guess what I'm asking is a yes or no question. I know fixed point arithmetic was a nice little trick to increase the speed of calculations on processors that where poor at doing floating point calculations, which was later ditched when processors like the pentium 4 came out where floating point calculation were comparable to fixed, even faster in most cases because floats weren't having to be converted to fixed point int.

I've only recently been developing on iPhone, so I don't fully know what it's capable of or how good it's processor is in dealing with floating point arithmetic. Can fixed point arithmetic offer me an performance increase on the iPhone?
