I have a 'date_entered' field, along with an ID field that relates to a category in another table, and an amount field.
I want to write a query such that all corresponding categories are 'grouped' together, so that I can pull a YTD report on the data.

I can get the category portion joined properly, but having difficulty grouping/summing the data.
If my query reads where date_entered > 1/1/2010, how can I modify it so that it sums by category?
If that doesn't explain it well enough, I can post more info on the tables, thanks.
