How can I remove or delete Outlook personal folders (.PST files) from Outlook 2011 for Macintosh?

How can I remove or delete Outlook personal folders (.PST files) from Outlook 2011 for Macintosh?

As you can see in the screenshot, I want to remove the two entries in the left hand column that say [username.pst]. Note that the username is whited out.

I'm very familiar with Outlook and Microsoft products, except for those that deal with Macintosh or Macintosh operating systems.

Please tell me exactly what I need to do.

I haven't  been able to figure this out using Google searches or by using Outlook 2011 for Macintosh help.

Have you tried right-clicking the folder and moving it to the trash (delete)?

right click on it and it should let you delete it. if that don't work , try right clicking the parent folder rather than child.

What do you mean  by the parent folder rather than child?
He is saying the folder one level up from the folder you want to delete, but I don't think you want to do that.  Have you tried what I suggested above?

Yes, I have tried all of the comments listed above, but these two folders are still there and haven't been deleted.
Have you tried emptying the folder first, then deleting it?

yes, and that didn't work either.

It might be a couple weeks longer until I see this customer again and can try deleting the Outlook 2011 for Mac personal folders.
