asked on

exchange 2007 credentials

For some reason exchange is now asking users to enter their credentials.  Not sure why this is happening.  Usually they sign into the computer with their credentials and when they open outlook it auto connects to their profile, but not now.  If the user enters domain\username and password then it connects.  Any suggestions?

the dialog box says: server name/domain.local and then wants username and password

Is all the Exchange roles on one server, or separate servers, hub, client access and mailbox?

ASKER

one server
it could be a problem with the OAB folder not having the right permissions.  if you have moved the outlook address book to a new IIS or changed the config in anyway you need to the make sure the impersonate permissions are correct.  msdn has several articals on confguring the virtual directory correctly.  let me know if you need more details
DMTitan, we have moved the OAB, where can I find out more on the permissions?  msdn?
in google type this for the search: oab site:microsoft.com
you need to make sure its configured in the exchange client hub and that the virtual directory on the iis server has permissions.  while you are testing the setting and if you have autodiscover enabled (you should) right click on the outlook icon in the task try while holding shift... then click on test autodiscover connection.  this is the one true test to make sure its working.

DMTitan, this has nothing to do with OAB, I have never come across the OAB asking for credentials.  Error messages yes, certificate prompts yes, but not credentials
Thanks
