I am placeing a 4 port HP netowrk card in a DELL 2800. Does HP have any teaming software for that

Ok I have a new HP g7 dl 380. And it is going to be a back end SQL server.
the front end will be a Dell power edge 2800. I have a 4 port HP PCI x card by HP. does HP have any software to team these. If not how do In configure the switch to team these. The switch is a cisco 2860g

No I do not have teaming on the G6. have never done it before. Would like some help in that
Did you install the software yet?  For Windows, there is a Network Configuration Utility (NCU).  You need to go to the HP support web site, search by your specific NIC model, then your OS.  There should be only one download.

The current multi-port NICs are PCI-E, not PCI.  IIRC, they are Intel chips.
Teaming with Link Aggregation requires setup at the NIC/OS as well as the switch.  Can't do just one.

Teaming with fail-over or load-balance can be NIC/OS only.  But, you won't get the same bandwidth improvements.
Ok so Ineed to do it both on the switch and the server. tea the four nics up in the OS and then enable link aggration on the cisco for ports 1-4 is that correct?
Yes.  The team type must be for aggregated links.  There are other team types for failover and for load-balancing.

On your switch, make the LAG.  Plug in all.  Hopefully will "just work".
