Microsoft Office 2010 Word/Excel no sound notification when closing the program with text inside "do you want to save changes you made to document 1?
was wondering if anyone has this problem or scene it with Office 2010 Word and Excel.
When you try closing the document - in the previous versions of Office it would have a chime with the prompt asking you if you want to save / dont save /cancel
But i have noticed that in 2010 - there are no noises at all... its just the notification box. I have tried the office 2010 feedback sound , installing the Office add-ins:office sounds, and enabling feedback with sound in word options --> advance --> gerneral --> provide feedback with sound
still no luck with anything :( - not sure if Microsoft disabled it or is there something that i missed
Thank you :)

Never heard a noise in Office before but could it be your sound scheme in the control panel?

forgot to mention - this is an upgrade - it came from office 2007--> 2010 (which had sound before)
ive done a test on my own home PC which was running office 2007 Professional plus - i've upgraded to 2010 professional plus and same issue - no sound
The only strange thing is outlook incoming email there are sounds..... :(

Could you check in the control panel --> sounds --> tab Sounds.
Here you'll find a schema of sounds. Look at Close program it doesn't have sound, is this what you mean?

Hi Curbe i have tried that as per your request - set the close program soudn to any sound - applied --> closed office word 2010 - relaunched it ... typed some random characters... pressed the X only the notification box pops up
i have also reset all the sound to "windows default" just in case - still no luck

Okay, sorry for that.
I've looked at my office 2010 (excel).Go to File and then to options. Go to Advanced and then half way there should be a header called General. Could you click Feedback with Sound (or something like that I'm translating from Dutch).

yup - did that tooo :) - once you click the "provide feedback with sound" it goes you need to download the office sound addon -
it brings you to the microsoft website - but it says its compatible with 03/07 but it doesn't say 2010 on it :(
install it... but i noticed if you have that thing on ... you make any mistakes with the word (red line underneath) the speakers make a semi click noise but not the noise we are looking for

Then I'm afraid Microsoft stripped it out in Microsoft Office 2010. I can't think of anything more than what we've done so far.

yeah thats what i thought in the beginning as well - "office" - for office enviroment that doesn't generally have speakers. I got a client that wants both the sounds and the notification window
but i have tried multiple OS (xp / server 2008 / win 7 with office 2010) and all three of them show no sounds at all :(
but thank you for your assistance :)
