Most efficient method to import data into openoffice base

I want to export and import a table, including structure, from mysql into an openoffice base file. What is the most efficient way to do this?

I've tried exporting using sql statements but I can't seem to get the create table command to work in openoffice (using the top level sql dialog). It tells me that the command executed successfully but the table never shows up.

How about using csv format?

Export see: http://ariejan.net/2008/11/27/export-csv-directly-from-mysql/
