HELP!!! I needed to install Intel Rapid Storage Technology software....

Hi, I needed to install Intel Rapid Storage Technology software to manage the Intel ICH10R Raid controller of my RAID 1 setup.

The trick was, installing it on Windows Server 2008 R2.  I heard that in order to install IRST software I needed to install a feature .Net Frameworks for the software to install and work, because it needs .Net Frameworks.

Well, in order to install frameworks, I needed to install Web Server (IIS) or the frameworks feature is under the Web Server (IIS) role.

So, my question or concern is how can I tell whether or not I actually have IIS installed and running under 2008 R2?  I mean, I would rather not have it running or installed for that matter, just the bare minimum requirements to have the IRST software working, because it this server will be my main DC (PDC) and I don't need IIS for it.

I hope this makes sense.

If you need further details, just let me know.

Thanks for your time.

For one ... to see if you have IIS installed/running, you will have the Inetpub folder in the root of C:, and it will show as an installed/configured Role in Server Manager.

OK, I tried the "start-run--inetmgr" and got an error not able to find it.

However, I do see the "inetpub/wwwroot" folders under C:

And under Roles, I see "Web Server (IIS) and the system services running are:

Application Host Helper Service
Windows Process Activation Service
World Wide Web Publishing Service

Also, I do not see IIS Manager under Adminstrative Tools.
So, I guess I am just wondering if this is the bare minimum needed for .Net Frameworks requires to run / to be installed.

Thanks again.
