Refresh (re-execute query) a listview's data source (ASP.NET, VB)

I have a listview with a datasource configured for it on the aspx page.  I am making the listview visible and not visible at different times and need it to update when it becomes visible.

in my routine (in my aspx.vb file), I call this:

 ListView1.Visible = True

and I want it to refresh (re-execute query) at this time.

it was suggested that I use ListView1.refresh() or  ListView1.refresh both of which

give the error 'refresh' is not a member of system.web.UI.webcontrols.listview

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

In code behind you can use DataBind method:
ListView1.DataBind();
