how to extract/export data from Sql Server 2008

is there a way to extract/export data from a table?  i tried generate script but it doesn't include data.  backup includes the schema, not just the data.  for some reason my export wizard always crashes.  is there any other way/tool that i can use to extract data?

You could also use BCP to get the data out.  It is documented in Books Online or on MSDN.

Depends on how much / how many things you need to export.

In the export wizard, you should be able to export data - what are you exporting to and what is the error ?

In 2008 you can also Generate Scripts (in SSMS right click on database, tasks, generate scripts) and go through the wizard - there is an option to include data, but, you have to scroll and turn that bit on.

If just doing a single table, then there are also the BCP routines and such like, but if doing a once off, then the export wizard is typically the best method. You can also save that script / job and then run it at a later stage.
